2025's Best Cars

In the drive for sustainability, connectivity and performance, numerous upcoming vehicles are pushing the boundaries of what a car is.

1. BMW iX3

BMW has decided to expand the range of its “i" electric sub-brand platform, which will also include the highly anticipated BMW iX3 SUV. Even though the idea of an EV crossover or SUV is nothing new, it will run on BMW’s new EV-specific platform, Neue Klasse.

The BMW iX3 concept model's interior uses many sustainable materials and has an airy feel with its minimalistic design. Its seating space comfortably accommodates four adults. The cabin will use integrated, illuminated textile pieces to help light the interior.

Even though this BMW iX3 is already sold overseas in other parts of the world, it uses the previous combustion motor platform. The new platform will also allow for better battery placement inside the BMW, meaning it handles better and has a better-estimated range.

The North American model will be released in 2026 or late 2025, with three different trim levels possible. However, BMW has not yet released any official information.

2. Tesla Model 2

The Tesla Model is the “baby-sized" model from this powerhouse in the EV market. The Model 2 is the long-awaited entry-level electric car that will hopefully allow more people to afford a Tesla vehicle.

Model 2 will compete with Chinese rivals in pricing, but it will also have an advantage over Chinese EVs. Firstly, the Tesla brand has always pushed the boundaries in technology and the Model 2 will follow that trend as the new batteries will be more sustainable and cheaper.

Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, has not given a clear date for when this small EV sedan will be available for sale, but it is on track to be available in the first half of 2025.

3. Hyundai Ioniq 6

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is part of Hyundai’s iconic all-electric range. Its high aerodynamic body and covered wheels styling maximize the range of this sedan by decreasing the vehicle's drag efficiency. This means that, besides looking futuristic, it will increase the range drastically.

The Ioniq 6 shares many components and parts with the Ioniq 5, Hyundai’s electric SUV, which won many awards for its groundbreaking technology. The technology allows the Ioniq 6 to have an EPA-estimated range of 361 miles per charge.

While the Hyundai Ioniq 6 may only have an electric motor rated at 149 horsepower, this sedan is great for people who want city and long-distance sedans that will save them money on fuel while still being comfortable and affordable.

4. Mazda CX-50

The Mazda CX-50 is one of the best small SUVs on the market. Its elegant and refined looks and great performance make it a must-buy for anyone. However, the CX-50 is getting an upgrade for the 2025 model year.

The Mazda CX-50 will add a hybrid system to the SUV, which will help fuel efficiency. The system is the same one found inside the highly rated latest Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

As the hybrid version of the CX-50 has not been released, its EPA figure is not confirmed. However, Mazda expects a 10 MPG gain on the combustion-only Mazda CX-50, which has an MPG figure of 28 MPG.

5. Porsche 911

Whenever a new Porsche 911 is released, you can expect a massive deal and the 2025 911 will be even bigger. That is because the 2025 model year of the 911 will finally have a hybrid system added into the sports car.

However, the hybrid system inside the 2025 911 model is not for fuel economy. It’s about adding performance to the already high-performing powertrain. The hybrid system will come in the 911 GTS range, which already has a turbocharged flat-six.

The combined power of the turbo flat-six and the hybrid will be 532 horsepower with extra torque at lower rpm. This means you can accelerate quicker using the hybrid motors. Besides the hybrid system, the 2025 911 is the same as the previous years.
